CSFont's Alternate Universe & Arbitrarium: Robot
The Robot is a DJ helper. Its purpose is to play songs in a somewhat unattended mode when no live DJs are available. It does this by selecting songs randomly.
- If you see that the show title is Arbitrarium Automatica, and if all song titles have (Robot) after them, that means that the robot is active and randomly picking songs.
- The robot can now automatically fill requests, subject to the limitations of the rules. This generally means a one hour delay.
- The robot now has a voice synthesizer to make snarky comments at will.
- Because the robot is rather primitive at this time, live voiceovers are a bit difficult when it is active.
- You might not like everything the robot plays. This is the nature of randomness. The surprises, however, will come, and will help to make up for that.
- I can (and do) skip songs that the robot is playing. If it hurts everyone's ears, let me know. If I agree that it's ear-screechingly awful, I can add it to the "never play this song automatically ever again" list.
- Technical information: The robot is mostly written in Python, and is a copyrighted work, not intended for distribution. It runs on FreeBSD, and depends on a number of custom Bourne shell and PHP CLI scripts.
